A Wyoming native, Ms. Winegar focuses her practice in the areas of business planning, estate planning, trust and estate administration, real estate, mineral law and health law. Ms. Winegar represents companies in all stages of their development. Her practice is located primarily in the firm’s Cheyenne and Denver offices. She serves as general counsel for several private trust companies which manage assets in excess of $2 billion. Ms. Winegar’s practice covers a broad range of real estate transactions, including real property acquisition and disposition, development, leasing (both landlord and tenant representation), financing, formation of entities for real estate investment and development, as well as preparation of drilling and division order opinions for fee, federal and state lands in Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska. She is also experienced in counseling physicians and physician practice groups on practice organization, sale, acquisition, management, and regulatory compliance issues. With Ryan McGuffey, Ms. Winegar also operates Peak Sports Management LLC, a sports agency affiliated with the firm.
Ms. Winegar received a bachelor of music degree with honors in trumpet performance and a minor in political science from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2000, and a J.D. with honors from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2004. She is licensed to practice law in Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska. She is a member of the Laramie County Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association (Real Estate Section), Southeast Wyoming Estate Planning Council, and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the leading worldwide professional body for practitioners in the fields of trusts, estates and related issues. She is also an Adjunct Professor of Law (Estate Planning) at the University of Wyoming College of Law for the Spring semester of 2012.
Ms. Winegar’s practice offers a comprehensive, values-based approach to wealth transfer, extensive experience handling a variety of business and real estate transactions, and efficient approaches to trust and estate administration. Her background in the performing arts uniquely equips her with a creative and results-driven practice.
Ms. Winegar is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation, and serves with Tom Long as co-chairmen of the Wyoming State Bar Mentoring Committee. She is also a member of the Wyoming State Bar Mentoring Implementation Committee, whose goal is to provide a seamless transition for young lawyers from law school to private practice. She is a former member of the Greater Cheyenne Arts Advisory Council and the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors.
